I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable in your own body.
As a teenager, I was insecure about how I looked and how weak I felt, and that lack of confidence spilled into everything. I struggled to join in with sports with friends, wore clothes that didn't fit well, and found it hard even to form relationships with people. Those same insecurities led me into terrible eating habits, drinking, smoking and generally not looking after myself.
Eventually, I decided I needed to do better, for myself and for the people who care about me. I changed my lifestyle and learned everything I could about diet and training. That changed how I look, but it also changed how I live.
It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, and with what I know now, it could have been much easier and much faster. That's why I do this job.
Over the past four years, I've helped more than 150 people reach their goals. I bring that experience, and my own, to every session, so your journey is easier than mine was.

What working with me looks like
Your life, your plan
It starts with a free consultation.
We'll talk about your goals, why they matter to you, what's held you back before, where you are now, and any injuries or health conditions I need to know about. Then I'll put together a few options for getting you there, combining training, technique, nutrition and lifestyle changes, so you can pick the one that fits your life.
Technique first
We get the movement right before we add the weight.
In your first few sessions, I'll assess how you move, using my training in joint-by-joint movement assessment. I'll check your fitness, your strength and your balance and body control. Then I'll build your programme and set clear benchmarks. We'll get your technique right first, then add weight as you progress.
Someone in your corner
Support between sessions, not just during them.
You'll have WhatsApp access to me from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, for any question about your training, nutrition or progress. In every session, I'll check in on how your week went and what we can do next. And I'll properly listen, whether you're feeling demotivated, dealing with a niggle in a joint, or just not feeling confident in the gym.
Progress you can see
We track what matters for your goal.
For fat loss, that might be your weight, waist measurement and clothes size, looking at trends over time rather than daily weigh-ins. For strength and muscle, we'll track your lifts and your training load, session by session and week by week. For muscle gain or changing how you look, we'll use body measurements and progress photos.
The basics, done well
Training is one part of the picture. These simple habits make a big difference to how you look, feel and perform. Use them as a starting point.
This is general guidance, not medical advice. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take medication, speak to your GP before making changes.
Protein. Protein helps you build and keep muscle, and it keeps you fuller for longer. Aim to include a good source at every meal, like meat, fish, eggs, dairy, tofu or beans.
The government guideline, about 0.75g per kilo of body weight, is the minimum most people need to stay healthy. If you're trying to build muscle or change your body composition, you'll usually need more. A good rule of thumb is around 0.7g per pound of body weight, or about 1.6g per kilo. If you have kidney problems, check with your GP before increasing your protein.
Calories. Your weight changes based on your energy balance over time. Eat more than you use and you'll gain; eat less and you'll lose. No single food makes you gain or lose weight.
Tracking.
You don't have to track to make progress, but it helps you understand how much you're actually eating. You could:
- log your food in an app like MyFitnessPal for the most detail
- use portion control, like a set plate size or measured servings
- use your hand as a guide: a palm of protein, a fist of veg, a cupped hand of carbs and a thumb of fats per meal
Pick the method you can stick with. If tracking starts to make you anxious about food, stop and talk to me.
Food quality. Build most of your meals around whole foods. Get plenty of fruit, vegetables and fibre, and leave room for foods you enjoy.
Whole foods are foods that are as close to their natural state as possible, for example:
- Protein: chicken, fish, eggs, lean beef, Greek yoghurt, tofu, beans and lentils
- Carbs: oats, potatoes, rice, wholemeal bread and pasta, fruit
- Fats: nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado
- Veg: anything fresh or frozen. Frozen veg is just as good, and often cheaper.
Hydration. The NHS recommends 6 to 8 glasses of fluid a day, about 1.5 to 2 litres, and you'll need more when you train. A simple guide:
- Before training: have a glass or two of water in the couple of hours beforehand.
- During training: sip regularly, especially if you're sweating a lot.
- After training: keep drinking until your urine is pale straw-coloured, which is the easiest check.
For long, hot or very sweaty sessions, an electrolyte drink can help replace the salt you lose.
Consistency. Look at your week, not a single day. One big meal doesn't undo your progress, and one perfect day doesn't make it.
How I can help: I can help you set your protein and calorie targets, track your progress with weekly weigh-ins, choose the right foods and nutrients for your goals, and look at your diet across the whole week so it fits your life.
